Welcome!
I am so excited to welcome you to 8th grade U.S. History. This year we will study U.S. History from exploration to Reconstruction. We will learn why the United States is the United States. We will learn about important events and people who have defined us as a nation. I can't wait to share my love of history with you!
Supplies Needed:
In addition to the supplies on the “School Supply List” You will need a total of 4 college ruled spiral notebooks for my class, as well as the following:
- 2 - 3-prong 2-pocket folders for Bellwork with lined notebook paper
- Ream of copy paper
- Lined notebook paper
- Colored pencils
- Pens (Blue or black ink only)
- Pencils
- Highlighters

An Interactive Notebook is more than a notebook used to take notes. The notebook becomes a collection of student work, a way to monitor progress easily and a way to help with engagement and organization. The notebook is a process of using many aspects of learning and thinking. The more ways that students use and apply information, the better the student will understand and be able to apply the information. The notebook must be a spiral or otherwise bound notebook (wire bound is best). The minimum size is a 70 -page spiral (we usually are able to fit two units in one notebook). |

Performance assessments (projects) will be required. Such work will be assigned and explained at the beginning of the unit of study so that you will have enough time to complete the work. |
